Laser Vision Glasses - Innovative Nonsurgical Vision Correction

Nearly everyone has heard of laser surgery to correct vision, but many people are still unaware of the benefits of laser vision glasses. In this method of treatment, the laser is used not on the patient, but instead to create tiny openings in a lens which serve to correct vision in a new way. There are none of the risks of surgery, and the cost is far less as well.

You may have experienced the phenomenon if "pinhole" vision. Take a sheet of dark stiff paper or cardboard and punch a pinhole in it. (You may also pierce several rows of tiny holes for the same effect. No matter whether you are nearsighted, farsighted or have astigmatism, when you look through the pinhole, everything will be sharp and clear!

Laser vision glasses are a high tech version of this process. Vision depends on many things, from the side of the eyeball to the curvature of the cornea to the muscles of the eye and of the lens. Looking through tiny apertures forces the eye to adapt to clear vision, and laser vision glasses retrain the eye muscles and structures in this way. It is believed that, unlike regular glasses, laser vision lens technology can stop progressive conditions like myopia from getting worse and even improve them to near normal.

Best of all, a person does not need to wear strange looking glasses all of the time, but simply for 30 minutes each day while doing any normal activities such as reading or watching TV. While worn, the tiny apertures that are precision created using high tech lasers retrain the eye to see clearly. Some users have reported vision improving by several diopters in only a month!

Studies done in Russia have shown clinical results using these glasses. They have even shown an improvement in proper color perception for those working under certain kinds of lighting. One real plus is that everyone can use the same lens, regardless of prescription, making them pretty much universal.

The laser vision glasses not only look like sunglasses with tiny holes, they also can be used as sunglasses with good protection and no color distortion, unlike regular tinted lenses. Unlike the cardboard pinhole lenses, these are durable plastic lenses with the exact pattern of openings or apertures formed using extremely accurate lasers. Laser vision glasses are usable at any age and with very few contraindications.

How to Increase Your Bench Press by Doing Squats

My Legs Are Already Big Enough. I Keep Hearing Working Legs Is A MUST. Why Is That So Important?

Believe me... I hated leg workouts. Until I realize the true potential that a simple set of squats could unleash.

Frankly... I see the same people on the leg press machine, leg extensions, doing lunges and doing squats week after week. But for every other muscle group, it's like a new day. There's the familiar faces of course, but there's always new people. It's like working leg is an exclusive club.

And yet that is 50% of your body! Your entire lower body you will neglect because:

o You don't like working legs

o You don't want bigger legs

o Your leg are big enough

But let's suppose... you do work legs. And without much weight at all. Just enough to stimulate your entire body propelling it into new levels of growth. Do you think that is possible?

How can doing squats increase our bench press? If you are stuck on bicep curls, how can incorporating legs into your routine break you thru those plateaus?

I'm here to tell you right now, as you read this, that doing leg workouts is a whole lot more then just getting bigger, more toned, or stronger legs.

Think about it. Testosterone is a primary ingredient of building muscle. So you do a hard set of tricep pushdowns. Your body responds by making more testosterone. Let's just guess at 10% more for the day. Phew. Hard workout. Good job!

Do you qualify as one of those people?

But,... let's say you do a set of breathing squats at 100% intensity.

You just boosted your testosterone production 1000%.

Do you think I'm being facetious?

But back to the purpose of this question. Working your legs isn't an option. It's something you do. So you don't want bigger legs? Fine. Don't pile on the weight. Don't overload them. Just stimulate your metabolism, and stimulate your body changing. So you don't like legs? Get over it.

Fact is, by incorporating legs into your workout, you will see more gains in 6 weeks then most people do in 3 months.

Don't take my word for it. Look around at your gym? The guy with a huge upper body and tiny chicken legs. Do you want to look like that? Who are the bigger guys in your gym? Who are the women that you most want to look like? I can assure you those people do legs. Any top notch physique does legs.

Doing a cardio machine that uses legs is not the same.

So that's why working your legs is so important. Please do not make excuses. You do not have to train to failure where you cannot walk. You don't have to squat 600 lbs. You simply must train the 50% of your body that pretty much 80% of everybody just doesn't do.

Next time you are in the gym take a good look around. Notice the leg equipment. Notice the same people using that week after week.

Become one of the individuals at your gym that trains legs and discover the secret to growth.

Here are the reasons why working every muscle - not just certain ones - is the superior method of getting the results you want:

1. Builds lean muscle

2. Reduces body fat levels

3. Increases energy

4. Balances blood sugar in the body

5. Increases neuromuscular efficiency

6. Improves sexual performance

7. Lowers cholesterol in the body

8. Protects against heart disease

9. Improves mood

All the above reasons are by-products of increased testosterone. For men, this means better muscle gains. For women, don't worry you don't have enough testosterone to get big and bulky like a man. For everybody, working legs will help you with the above factors and assist you in reaching your goals.

Innovative Heart Therapies Trumping Needless Surgeries

Opinion and belief masquerading as science have always been a formidable adversary of progress in any of the scientific disciplines, but perhaps most notably, in medicine. Here, many new and effective therapies have been swept under the rug simply because they incite thought and, not insignificantly, threaten the profits of established practices. New and truly effective treatments have been unjustifiably labeled as worthless, dangerous, and quackery. As a result, those innovators in the alternative medicine community generally keep a low profile as they successfully treat cancer, psoriasis, arthritis, osteoporosis, heart disease, and countless other illnesses normally treated by conventional medicine with surgery, radiation, a lifetime of drugs, and other dangerous, debilitating, and grossly ineffective methods.

Chelation and Other Progreesive Therapies Under Attack

Among the more favored targets the conventional clique like to attack is Chelation Therapy. This involves a series of intravenous infusions of a solution of EDTA (Ethyline Diamine Tetraacetic Acid) , over a period of several months It's purpose is to clear blocked arteries and restore normal blood circulation in patients with cardiovascular disease. The objection that the conventional medical community has to this seems to be that it works too well, eliminating the need for expensive and dangerous bypass surgery.

The search for the faults and limitations of Chelation Therapy has gone on relentlessly. Although all concerned may have been better served with an embracing of this therapy and a search for ways to improve on it, the conventional group, especially the surgeons who saw their profits being threatened, mobilized their resources to uncover the flaws.

Conventional Arguments Lauched

They argued first that Chelation Therapy is hard on the kidneys, that it has never been investigated with a double blind study, and it is an "unproven" treatment. Gleefully they cited a death that had occured during chelation. They also intoned solemnly that EDTA fails to clear heavily impacted large arteries, and the aorta. Another factor they noted with delight is that it was ineffective against the fibrous blockages of advanced coronary disease.

And Then Shot Down

It turns out that the fatality cited was caused by a hospital error, not the EDTA Chelation Therapy. The wrong solution was administered by a hospital staff member. This indicates rather strongly that it is best to take Chelation Therapy in the doctor's office, where the wrong solution is unlikely to be stocked.

The "unproven" argument doesn't hold water. We've never seen any double blind studies done on bypass surgery and more than a million patients have avoided this successfully with Chelation Therapy.

Some Validity Acknolwledged

It is true that EDTA Chelation Therapy fails to clear the large heart arteries, but it does in fact establish very good collateral circulation, which is exactly what bypass surgery does, using the patient's veins to bypass blocked arteries. What the surgeons always fail to say is that veins are not constructed to withstand arterial pressures and begin to deteriorate the moment they are installed. This is not a factor in the collateral circulation established with Chelation Therapy.

True also is the contention that EDTA fails to clear the large fibrous masses involved in advanced coronary disease. This shortcoming has been addressed successfully in Germany for years through the oral administration of enzyme formulations such as Wobenzyme N. This treatment effectively clears the fibrous masses and is being increasingly used by alternative physicians here in the U.S.

Alternative Medicine Answers Effectively

As far as the failure of EDTA Chelation Therapy to clear the large heart arteries goes, the alternative physicians employing Chelation Therapy know this as well as their adversaries. A new therapy has been rapidly emerging within the alternative medical community. Known as Chelox Therapy, this is a combination of EDTA Chelation and Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) Therapy. H2O2 blasts through arterial impactions with woodpecker efficiency and is rapidly becoming an intrinsic part of any alternative chelation protocol.

Chelox Therapy Enters the Fray

Chelox Therapy involves the infusions on separate days, of EDTA and H2O2 solutions. Infusion of the EDTA solution takes about four hours. EDTA is hard on the kidneys and needs to be dripped in slowly to avoid damaging them. Constant close monitoring of kidney function is part of the routine protocol here. H2O2 infusion is much more benign, requiring only about 90 minutes. Hydrogen Peroxide is a normal component of the body's metabolism and its infusion causes no adverse reactions when administered properly, and of course the same holds true for EDTA infusions; the key words here being "administered properly."

Informed Patients Choose What Is Best For Them

So ultimately, any patient with cardiovascular disease has a choice to make. As a patient, you can take the easy way out and let the surgeons ply their trade. They will split you open like a side of beef, cutting through your sternum and spreading your ribs to their ultimate limits. They will cut portions of veins from your legs and use them to bypass the arterial blockages. Then they will put you back together again. Your sternum is cartilage. Broken cartilage does not heal. They will clamp your sternum together again with metal clamps. Just hope that they hold. If you should ever exert yourself to the point where the clamps tear out (it has happened), put your affairs in order. But on the positive side, it's all been done for you. All you've had to do is lie there.

With Chelation Therapy, or Chelox Therapy, a patient needs to be a little more proactive. This requires sitting in a recliner multiple times with a needle in your arm. It can get to be a drag. But in the end, you are restored to health, all your parts are still intact and you will experience none of the limitations imposed on you by the invasive and destructive procedure of bypass surgery. Also, it's a whole lot cheaper.

Alternative Health Occupations Offer Innovative Perspective on Health and Healing

While conventional medicine is the common academic course for some students, prospective alternative medicine practitioners like massage therapists, acupuncturists, and chiropractors are fast growing alternative health careers.

Chiropractic, for example, is part of the many fascinating disciplines of complementary and alternative health careers available today. The chiropractic field offers a new look into healthcare. Based on interesting concepts, alternative health careers like chiropractic include the belief that the human body has powerful self-healing capabilities that the spine and its function have a close relationship with the body's health, and that making careful adjustments to the spine can help the body function more efficiently and healthfully.

Alternative health careers in chiropractic require a fair amount of education and training. Students interested in pursuing this natural healthcare field should note that most chiropractic colleges and schools require educational prerequisites, and are often comprised of over 4,000 academic and practical training hours.

If you're not easily scared by needles, then alternative health careers in acupuncture and Oriental medicine might be ideal for you. This unique alternative healthcare occupation is based on the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and believes that the body must be in balance to achieve optimal health. In addition to using specific needling techniques along the body's meridians (energy channels), acupuncture and Oriental medicine integrates additional natural health treatments like moxibustion, cupping, herbal medicine, Tai Chi, Qigong, and Tuina (Chinese medical massage) to restore health and to promote healing.

Like chiropractic, students interested in alternative health careers in acupuncture must sometimes meet certain educational prerequisites prior to applying to the school of choice. And as with most practitioner fields, acupuncturists must meet licensing requirements as mandated by the State or Province in which they reside. This often means that extensive academic and hands-on training must be met before candidates can begin to practice legally.

Don't have time for a lengthy educational program? Massage therapy is one of the fastest-growing alternative health careers today. With an exceptional occupational forecast, students pursuing the field of massage therapy have an excellent career outlook.

There are over 80 variations of masotherapy from which to choose -- including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and sports massage, among others. Alternative health careers in massage therapy offer practitioners and clients unique healing treatments that are focused on the body's self-healing capabilities. Not only do certified massage therapists have the opportunity to work alongside family healthcare providers, chiropractic doctors, and acupuncturists -- in some cases, professional massage practitioners work with animals in veterinarian clinics as well.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in achieving alternative health carriers, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore alternative health careers near you.

Should You Workout If You Are Sick?

Who doesn't catch a little cold right in the middle of the week when your workouts were going so great? There's been many times that my workouts were 100% the best I've ever had and right when I was on top of my game - I caught some cold bug and it frustrated me to no end!

How many times have you asked yourself this question or been asked yourself?

"I was wondering if workouts (cardio, weightlifting or both) should be halted during a common cold or if you should "sweat it out" as some say.

Common sense tells me that the body should fully recover before engaging in an intense workout, but is a light day or a less intense cardio day okay?

On one hand you don't want to break progress by waiting too long between workouts, yet on the other hand, you don't want to remain sick because the body will have to allocate nutrition in building muscle tissue as opposed to building an immune response."

- Sick and Wanting to Workout

This was a timely question. I've been in many public places this week and almost everybody I've been around at some point is sneezing and coughing and looks like they have a horrible cold!

You can workout when you have a cold BUT only under certain conditions. Let me elaborate before I ramble on.

Do Not Workout If:

* You have a fever * You feel nauseous * You are highly contagious and in a public gym

Workout If:

* You just have a mild cold * It's been a couple of days and you are over the worst of it

Many people that I know of, including myself at one time, did some pretty intense workouts while sick. And not just everyday common cold sick but flu-like sick.

Not only was it irresponsible of me to bring my funk into the gym but Karma was paid back when my body couldn't recover and I ended up prolonging my illness an extra week or so.

You see, working out when you have a mild cold is not a big deal. In fact, if you engage in light cardio, you'll feel better. It will help to open up your nasal passages and let you breathe easier. Recovery will not be hampered because it's a mild cold and you are doing a light workout. Just to keep moving really. Nothing intense at all.

What I don't recommend is that you workout with weights unless it's following the same principles.

Light. Keep that in mind. You are not there to get stronger, more fit or build muscle. You are there to feel better, to keep moving and get the added benefits that working out will help you do.

Believe me...

When I've done a light cardio workout a couple of days after the worst of the cold is over, I feel a lot better.

Why cardio?

Seems to me that working out with weights does not give you that cardiovascular benefit (except circuit training). I've never felt that great when I have a cold and hit the iron. I've always felt better when I just do light cardio for about 20 minutes or so. Nothing intense mind you. Strictly warm-up to pace levels.

Frankly...

The research has shown that doing cardio when you have a cold has the greatest benefits. Working out with weights has not had the same effect.

Let's face it...

Being sick is no fun! But if you over do it, you will just prolong your illness. So keep that in mind when I say light. You are there to feel better not improve or break a personal record.

Next time you are sick, go do some light cardio. Heck, even just walking around the block will feel pretty good.

Your recovery will not be compromised as long as you go light.

I urge you to take care of yourself first but after that, see if some light cardio helps you feel even better and recover faster.

This question is a great bridge to another topic that is a favorite of mine called Taking a Training Break. Should you or shouldn't you take one?

Fact is, the training break is an overlooked, often under utilized concept that not only will have you in the gym for longer periods of time but you'll recover faster and get stronger by NOT hitting the weights and doing cardio.

You see, after doing your workouts over and over, your body is always in a constant state of breakdown. At some point, even your immune system is compromised and you get sick. I've actually pinpointed my own rhythms.

After 9 weeks of training if I do not take a training break, I always get sick. A mild cold mind you but like clockwork, it happens. I've found that by working out continually, that 9 week hump is when my body is taxed to the point where I'm not at my optimal recovery.

By simply taking a break for 7 days, no weight and no cardio, I come back to the gym stronger and more recovered then before.

It's also very important to just let your joints heal during this time from lifting. So not only is a break good for the immune system but it's good for joint recovery as well.

If you take a training break every 8-12 weeks, you'll come back stronger and feeling more to working out then before and contrary to popular belief, you will not lose muscle during a 7 day break. You won't get smaller and all the gains you made will not be lost. That is a big myth.

During this break I still supplement the same, I just don't 'train' but I am active.

To sum up, taking a training break is a good thing. Every 8-12 weeks just let your body and mind recovery and get ready for the next round of training. It also helps to avoid the working out when sick as described above. By using this process, I've been able to avoid being sick for some time and when I am sick, I'm able to recovery a bit faster by using the principles described above.
